1990 | US Surgical (COVIDIEN) purchases the Jestetten based company S&T |
1994 | US Surgical closes S&T, factory of micro and opthalmic needles and sutures. |
1995 | 4 engineers, in particular Henry Frenzel and Joachim Brohammer from US Surgical Jestetten with the expertise of manufacturing micro needles and sutures, launch a new company (FSSB) in the same location |

1997 | FSSB gets the certificate for the ISO 9001 production standard |
2000 | FSSB expands with a second production plant in Neustadt / Orla (BSF) |
2001 | FSSB becomes the world leader for micro needles and in ophthalmic needles and sutures ISO 2001 CE |
2003 | FSSB extends its needle production to regular needles with a lenght from 16mm and beyond. |
2006 | FSSB gets the certificate for ISO 13485 |
2010 | FSSB gets the certificate for FDA approval |
2014 | The factory of Neustadt /Orla moves to a new and bigger facility in Pößneck, Germany. |
2015 | The Company group reaches a production capacity of approximate 110 mio needles per year. |
2016 | FSSB joines Surgical Specialties Corporation, making the combination of FSSB and Surgical Specialties one of the largest manufacturer of surgical needles worldwide. |
2018 | Joachim Brohammer and Henry Frenzel leave the FSSB / SSC group on December 18. |
2021 | Brohammer and Frenzel launch a new company: Brohammer Frenzel GmbH |
